The Law Student Council was formed in the Fall of 2006 to increase student participation in the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association (SFLRLA), to provide Bay Area Latina/o law students the opportunity to express their perspectives, and to facilitate communication among the Latina/o Bar and Latina/o law student associations.  Two Law Student Council  representatives participate as voting members on the SFLRLA board.

The Law Student Council shares the mission of the SFLRLA and is a testament to the Association's recognition of the importance of developing young leaders. The council consists of law students who have demonstrated their commitment to community service and mentorship.

The Law Student Council meets monthly and its members attend SFLRLA general meetings.
