East Bay La Raza Lawyers Association and Centro Legal de la Raza are teaming up to help immigrant families create emergency plans related to child custody and some financial matters.
The morning of Saturday, March 18, 2017, Ruben Sundeen and Erlinda Castro will be training volunteer attorneys in how to help explain and prepare the relevant paperwork with immigrant families at upcoming community know-your-rights events and intake clinics with Centro Legal. The training will also include a brief presentation on the child dependency system and on the immigration executive orders and implementation memos issued by the Trump administration.
The first opportunity to volunteer to assist immigrant families with these plans will be in Oakland on March 23, 2017 at 6pm.
If you're interested in volunteering, please plan to attend the training on March 18, 2017 and RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by March 8. When RSVP-ing, please indicate if you speak a language other than English.
